Dortmund had plenty of chances but failed to score the equalizer following Hoffenheim’s early opener.
“I think we were the better team and should have won the game. We were caught sleeping in the first couple of minutes. Hoffenheim were very aggressive. And then of course [Sejad] Salihovic scored a real wonder goal,” Hummels told the club’s official website.
“It happens from time to time in football. There is nothing you can do about it. In the first as well as the second half we had phases where we piled on a lot of pressure. At the end of the day it’s about scoring goals though and unfortunately we didn’t score one today.”
