The 29-year-old joined Palermo from Parma in 2006 and has impressed for the club.
“Of course there’s a possibility that I’ll stay at Palermo,” he said. “I feel very good here and I’ve got no reason to leave.
“Over the last few years I’ve never played with such consistency or had the same confidence of the coach and my team-mates, a player couldn’t ask for anything more.
“This season my position on the field is a little deeper than over the last few seasons, I’m more involved in the defensive part of the game.
“I’m not scoring so much, I’m trying but it’s more difficult now.”
