The former Manchester United defender said: “I’m never one to criticise referees but if that is Premiership refereeing then I’d rather be in the Football League.
“If we’re not careful we’ll end up playing in high heels and skirts and playing netball.
“If you touch anybody it’s a foul. We all like to see physical contact and a tackle.
“It’s frustrating you can’t play games like a cup tie anymore.
“It’s as if Mr Webb is a Premier League ref, we’re not in the Premier League so every decision edged to the Premier League side.”
