“It would be terrific to bring European football to the JJB Stadium,” said Bruce.
“It would be an unbelievable achievement for the club when you think how far Wigan have come since 1978 when they were still playing non-league football.
“How we would cope with it is another matter.
“If Tottenham and Aston Villa can’t cope with the amount of games, then I’m not so sure we would.
“But to be in there with a chance with nine games to go is terrific. At this time last season we were really twitching.”
