But Buffon was talked into staying at the club by coach Antonio Conte.
“But Conte called me, telling me beautiful and important things,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia. “Since then, I am more Juventino than ever before.
“In the previous season [2010-11], the first of Andrea Agnelli’s presidency, I had not played during the first half of the championship through injury and in the second half of the season I was not there; my head was somewhere else.
“I felt that it was maybe time for a change; to leave Juventus. I have always had a great sense of responsibility; [but] I had lost it.
“Then, I got to know the new directors well and they changed their opinions of me.
“Having the maturity to mend relations after some disagreements brings you together even more.”
Buffon joined Juventus from Parma for €51million.
