Bullard makes his return to action tonight in a reserve game against Bolton.
Bullard has played just 37 minutes for Hull, since joining the club from Fulham in January, due to a knee injury.
Hull boss Phil Brown is ready to hand Bullard a first-team return for the trip to Craven Cottage on October 19.
“It would be funny if it turns out to be against Fulham with them being my former club,” said the midfielder. “But that’s just the way it is. If it’s my old club I make my comeback against, then so be it.
“For me the most important factor will be that I’m back playing again and not who I’m back playing against.
“I’m hoping to get a couple of games under my belt before then. I’ve got an outing for the reserves planned and it will just be good to go out there, get a bit of fitness back and get used to playing competitive football again.”
