The 20-year-old midfielder is being linked with several clubs around Europe, including Sunderland.
“To tell the truth this news about me being transferred to Sunderland has taken me by surprise because I really don’t know anything about it,” he told Televisa Deportes.
“Of course it’s a dream for me to play in England, it would be very important for my career. But for the moment it’s only a rumour, so until somebody comes to me and tells me it’s true I will take it as a rumour. I will be waiting for official news.
“I don’t know how to take this information but if there is a proposal I will see if I go or what to do.
“Personally, to have the chance to play in Europe is a dream and it’s makes me emotional to think that my name is known in England, but I will have to wait.”
Calderon has impressed for Toluca this season scoring five goals in 10 games.
