The 32-year-old was allowed by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to leave the club for free in the summer.
Campbell said: “It’s exciting to be going back to Arsenal and it will be a special game.
“I had some wonderful years there so it’s going to be lovely to go back and play there. It’s a wonderful new stadium at the Emirates, too.
“It’s definitely a challenge down here. If you don’t have a big squad as I’ve been in before, you’ve got to look after yourself. One or two injuries here and there and we struggle.
“So we’ve got to look after ourselves and keep on playing those games. I’ve missed only one game with a stomach bug. It definitely wasn’t the luxury training facilities that tempted me here but I knew what I was getting into and it is a challenge in itself.
“It was cold in the changing rooms but we’ve got a new facility being built. The guys at the top have paid to get that up and running. Everyone can feel the club is going in the right direction.”
