He said: “These type of matches hurt and stay on your mind for a few days.
“But we must go forward and remember that we are top of the Premiership and doing well in the Champions League.
“Players were angry with themselves and you could see the same look on everybody’s face.
“You never like to lose and even more so when you are a team with our history.
“Other teams can’t openly say they have the ability to win the Carling Cup but United can always win it and elimination is a big blow.”
