The former Tottenham defender signed a one-month deal with Birmingham towards the end of February and McLeish is now interested in keeping him at the club until the end of the season.
“Stephen’s experience is terrific, but not only that, his quality on the ball has been a big plus for us,” said McLeish in the Birmingham Mail.
“A new deal is in the offing and something will be tied up in the next couple of days.”
