The Portuguese defender has been heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan to reunite with former boss Jose Mourinho.
However Carvalho himself admits that he is unsure of this prospect and is instead concentrating on getting back to full fitness.
He said: “What I said before was that I have had four great seasons here and last season wasn’t so good, so I wasn’t happy and I don’t think the club were happy because I didn’t play.
“At that time I felt like maybe it was time to go. But now I have a contract and I have to be professional and get fit to help my team-mates.
“In the future you never know, but at this moment I am focused on getting fit.”
