Lo Monaco says the Sicilians could spend around £9million if they avoid relegation.
“We have to underline that this team is very young,” said Lo Monaco.
“The players will gain a lot of experience for the future though. Sometimes in Serie A you pay the price for being a bit too innocent.
“However, if Catania avoid relegation this term, considering the TV rights and the profit accumulated, we will be able to invest approximately £9m on the transfer market.
“While last summer we were very careful and debating whether to spend £1.7m on a transfer, now things are different.
“Even if we had to sign a player for double we would not hesitate.”
