The 30-year-old still has 18 months left on his current contract with Catania.
“I know what you know,” Mascara told TMW. “There is nothing concrete about it. Being a Catania player, the club themselves would have to speak with one another.
“Napoli is a glorious club, that has a certain value and prestige. It always is nice to be attributed to such a high calibre club, but it is useless to convince myself that I could go to Napoli.
“At 30 years old, it is good to be linked to teams such as this, as it could be the last chance I have of winning some important silverware.
“Catania and I have not spoken about my renewal, as we have not put pen to paper yet.
“It would be nice to find a solution quickly, but I have 18 months left on my current contract,” Mascara concluded.
