The Spaniard believes the Gunners will cope without French star Thierry Henry this season. Henry joined Barcelona in a £16million transfer.
The 20-year-old said: “Thierry has been really important to this club over the past eight years. We scored a lot of goals because of him but we have to move on.
“At Arsenal we have a great set of world-class players. We should not have a problem but we know Thierry will be a big miss.
“We are ready to fight for the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, Carling Cup — everything. We must prove we are not just young but are winners.
“If we all give 100 per cent and injuries respect us, we will have a good season. We are one of Europe’s most important teams.”
He added: “Everybody wants this kind of responsibility. I have wanted it ever since I was a kid and it would be no problem for me to be captain.”
