He said: “The mood is spot-on. Everyone’s got belief that we can get ourselves out of this. We had a bit of setback when last Saturday’s results went against us and we knew that we had to win against Newcastle.
“We didn’t play our best in the first half but that just goes to show what character we’ve got to perform as we did in the second half.”
He added: “Every game from now until the end of the season is big. We’ve just got to try and pick up as many points as we can and see where that takes us.
“There’s no point believing that you can’t get out of it. Everyone in our changing room believes that we can do it. I just hope we can get out of the bottom three as soon as possible.”
