The 28-year-old will stay on loan at Charlton until January.
Plymouth boss Peter Reid told the club website: “Marcel’s not been in the team at the moment so it’s a chance for him to go away and get games.
He added: ” I’ve got [Krisztian] Timar, Bondz [N’Gala] and I’ve also got [Carl] Fletcher who can play there coming back, so I’ve got a few options in that area and it’ll be great for him.”
