Cole admits he has never been happier and both Chelsea and England will be reaping the benefits from that in coming months.
Cole said: “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than Chelsea. I’m right where I want to be. I supported the club as a boy and now here I am playing for them. So I am living the dream.
“I’ve got the chance to chase the biggest prizes in the game and I want to make the most of it by winning as many trophies as I possibly can.
“The added bonus is I am at home in London with my family and friends.”
Cole added to his start to the season: “Yes, I’m happy with the start I’ve made. To be honest, I’m a bit surprised as I was carrying a bit of an injury in pre-season and was worried I would be a touch behind everyone else.
“But I have actually hit the ground running and scored a few goals into the bargain for England and Chelsea. That’s been a real boost especially with two new managers to impress. I even scored with a header against Bordeaux.
“The last time I buried a header like that was when I was a kid at West Ham.
“But I’m still not at top form. I believe there’s another 20 per cent to come from me.”
