The Blues hope to sign the France international when the January transfer window opens, according to the Telegraph.
Chelsea will be allowed to buy and sell in the next tranfer window after the Court of Arbitration for Sport granted their request for a ‘stay’ on the ban their ban imposed by Fifa.
Chelsea had a bid of just over £40million for Ribery rejected by the German club in the summer.
Ribery’s current deal expires in 2011 and that could make Bayern Munich interested in cashing in on the winger in the upcoming transfer window.
