Scolari says his striker Didier Drogba is getting back to his best and will show that against Cluj.
He said: “When he starts against Cluj he will be better than before just you wait and see. Didier has started to play games now and he will get back to the level we know he can achieve.
“He needs time because he has not played for two months and the fans understand that Didier is not 100 per cent ready.
“I will play him in more games and we’ll see him improve. He needs eight to 10 more games to be really at the top level again.”
Scolari added on the match: “I know some Portuguese players who are here now and who played when I was in Portugal. And they have some Brazilian, Argentine and Paraguayans as well.
“They play in a South American style and they want to show the world they are a big club and the players want the chance to show off to other clubs they are good players.
“Now there are no big surprises in football. All teams know all teams, there are no small teams any more. Cluj are in this competition because they are a good team and they are champions of Romania.
“We have won many games in England because we respect our opponents — and we will respect Cluj as well.”
