He told Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha: “I admit that there were differences with Abramovich over not signing players in January.
“The team was stretched to the limit and needed new players, but that was a challenge and an extra motivation for me.
“I accepted Roman’s decision because he is the club’s owner.”
