Ancelotti is looking to strengthen his defence in January, due to injury problems at the back so far this season, according to TalkSport.
Ancelotti has been tracking Kjaer since the summer and is now prepared to make a move for the Denmark international.
Kjaer joined Wolfsburg from Palermo in a £7million deal last summer.
