The Star on Sunday reports that the Blues have been tracking the Algerian winger’s progress this season and are now ready to make a bid.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is a huge fan of Mahrez and it is expected that the 24-year-old will feature on the Blues’ shopping list in the summer.
The Algeria midfielder has scored 15 goals for Leicester City this season.
Mahrez has been a hit for Leicester City since joining the club from French minnows Le Havre for under £1million, just two years ago.
