The Mirror reports that the Blues are ready to pull the plug on the deal unless Cahill agrees to join them on Thursday.
Chelsea agreed a £7million fee with Bolton a fortnight ago, but have yet to agree on a deal with Cahill.
Chelsea will be hoping to finalise terms on a contract running until 2017 in the next 24 hours.
