Spurs have paid £3million for the French defender, who moved to Sunderland just six months ago.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said: “I’m delighted to have him.
“He plays with energy and can cover all along the backline.
“I tried to get him at Portsmouth but missed out on him there.”
