Chimbonda said: “I have been feeling at ease since arriving at Tottenham. I have settled down and feeling good about my football again. I am very happy.
“I regret handing in my transfer request on the final day of the season because I did not want to insult anyone. I am not a nasty person and thankfully I didn’t receive any nasty letters over my actions.
“I have got nothing against Paul Jewell and think he is a great coach. It is thanks to him that I have exploded on the English scene and I am grateful for that.”
Chimbonda added: “It was hard for me to leave Wigan because we had enjoyed a good season in the Premiership.
“But in life all players have got ambition and I wanted to try my luck with a bigger club. I want to take Tottenham on to another level and win as many trophies as possible.
“Martin Jol is a very good coach and he loves winning. He transmits that to his players and is always very positive.”
