Chimbonda is available on a free transfer after having been released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
“They’re giving me the opportunity to play here. I didn’t sign yet, but we’ll see,” he told Sky Sports News.
“It’s not a big decision because I always want to play football. It’s a good opportunity – the Championship is a really hard league and it’s competitive.”
