Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Guangzhou Evergrande owner Xu Jia Ying is keen to bring Rooney to China.
The newspaper reports that Xu is prepared to offer Rooney a deal worth £325,000-a-week.
Xu Jia Ying is reportedly worth over £5billion.
The Chinese billionaire is also working to bring Real Madrid ace Kaka to Guangzhou Evergrande.
