The 31-year-old joined Inter Milan in 2007.
“There was no meeting with Inter Milan and we have not yet arranged an appointment,” Chivu’s agent Victor Becali told Calciomercato.
“But I think we’ll meet by the end of the month.
“Are we optimistic about an extension? There is no need to feel optimistic, we’re not desperate.
“If there is an opportunity to stay at Inter then that will be good, otherwise we’ll assess other options.”
