Clarke has impressed while on loan at Chesterfield this season and the club is keen on signing the striker on a permanent basis.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Chesterfield and I would like to thank the manager for having faith in me at that time and also the players and everyone at Chesterfield who made me feel more than welcome while I was there,” Clarke told Sky Sports.
“I am just gutted the club didn’t pick up more points during my stay and I wished I was leaving them in a better league position, but I am sure they can beat the drop.
“I don’t know what the future holds. I’ve heard a few things and I won’t write off going back to Chesterfield, but one thing that is clear is I have no future at Swindon.
“But that’s football – players and managers come and go.
“I showed once again that I can score goals at this level [League One] and it’s been great playing week in, week out so I’m just looking forward to the future and the New Year.”
