Colchester chief executive Marie Partner told the club’s official website: “We have signed Ritchie under the emergency loan regulations, in order to cover us for the different injuries that were picked up in the match against Coventry City.
“Ritchie has signed for a period which also takes in the Southend United and Hull City matches, which is the anticipated time frame for the existing first team members to return to fitness.”
