Cole has made a superb start to life at Lille, and has found the competitive nature of the league compelling.
“The championship is very strong, very physical and very good technically”, said Cole.
“We don’t consider French football to be great in England, but I know now that it’s hard.
“At many clubs there are always one or two great young players.”
