Collins, whose last goal was three-and-a-half years ago, scored in the 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
He said: “It’s something we’ve been working on. I haven’t scored for a long time and it used to be a big part of my game.
“We’ve got some big lads in the team and it helps when the delivery is great from Ash (Ashley Young) and Milly (James Milner).
“This stands us in good stead. We know what level we’re at and got to stay there week in, week out.”
