Cook closing in on Fulham comeback

He told fulhamfc.com: “It’s been very frustrating, now I’m getting some strength back and balancing up the muscles around my knee. Hopefully I’ll soon be able to get out there and start impressing people because that’s what you want to do when you sign for a new club – in that respect it’s been a nightmare so far.

“I’m not running outside yet which is frustrating because that’s how you get your main fitness levels up. But in the last couple of weeks I’ve been able to do things that I wasn’t able to do before. There is steady improvement and I’m hoping to start running outside within the next three weeks, then it will take a few more weeks to get fit.

“So I’ve said to myself that I want to be back to my old self, playing well and fully fit by Christmas and, fingers crossed, that’s what’s going to happen.”
