The 29-year-old has joined the Brazilian side in a €6.5million deal from Spartak Moscow.
He told the Brazilian press: “This will be an unusual situation to start with, and we still do not know if it will end in success or failure.
“I need to be given a chance, however. I will have to play to the best of my ability, but from what has been happening for me I am confident that I can please the fans.”
Alex admits he regrets failing to win any titles with Spartak.
“The only reason I am not truly happy at my exit from there is because I did not manage to win any titles. I hope that this will happen now in Corinthians,” he added.
