De Guzman is considering a return to the Eredivisie in order to get regular first-team football.
The midfielder has failed to make the expected impact at Villarreal since joining the club from Mallorca last summer in a €8.5million deal.
“Since January I have not seen any football action,” De Guzman told NUSport.
“The last two games under previous coach Jose Molina, I was not even considered for selection.
“Now we are with Miguel Angel Lotina, our third coach of the season, and he does not know me yet.”
“I’m longing for playing time,” he added.
“On the one hand, I think it is too early to come back to Netherlands, but on the other hand, if I do well, I might be noticed more by the Dutch national team coach.”
