The England international had originally been ruled out for up to a month however it now looks as if he will play on as Spurs face a tough Champions League group which includes holders Inter Milan.
“Now he feels OK so we’ll see how he is tomorrow (after a meeting with Wigan) and if there’s no pain, he won’t have to have the op,” Redknapp said on Friday.
“But if he feels it, we will get the op done.
“It’s been put on hold. It was definitely going to happen, it was all booked in for this coming Tuesday, but now he feels OK so there’s a chance it may not happen.”
