Reports have suggested Del Neri left his job at Atalanta on bad terms during the summer.
“Contrary to what has been written, I never had any problem with the Nerazzurri,” explained Del Neri to sportmediaset.it.
“I lived two beautiful years there and we parted on good terms. In other words, it will be a pleasure going there.
“Atalanta play good football and in [the first] two games [of the season] they were unlucky. It will be a battle, this is certain, but with strength and awareness, Sampdoria are able to fight this battle.”
