West Ham had a bid for Barnes turned down this summer.
“We’ve just had a bid of £27.3m for Barnesy just because he played for 15 minutes on Saturday!” joked Davies.
“Seriously, it is a huge boost to see him back because he gives us a different outlet,” added Davies.
“He is very much suited to this level of football because counter-attacking is crucial, especially for teams like Derby.
“I still think he is a bit away from starting, but he will be in the 16 and ready to contribute.
“Every bit of action he gets will be a benefit to him.”
