Di Maria joined Real Madrid from Portuguese giants Benfica earlier this summer.
He said: “My goal is to win titles and help Real Madrid to be great again. When Madrid were interested I wanted to come here because as a child I had a dream of playing here.
“Now we have to think about getting better, and give everything for the team. I can give the team speed. I’m 22 years old. I can grow a lot next to these stars.”
He added: “We have to think about us. Barcelona have a great team, they are the champions, but we hope to start strong. Last year the team lacked a bit of luck and we were close to winning the league.”
