Djemba-Djemba told the Daily Mail: “I’m happy because I’m playing again, I’m working again.
“I’ve lost my place in my national team and I’m not playing at the top level.
“It has been embarrassing. But I’m very happy to be here.
“David O’Leary was never straight with me and, of all of them, he is the one who has hurt me. A lot of the players were very happy when he left.
“It is different with Martin O’Neill. He is straight, and so is Steve Cotterill here at Burnley.
“Honesty is all you can ask for.”
