Donati joined Bari this summer after several seasons in Scotland.
“I had started out well this year and was playing regularly, but something snapped. It’s a shame I had this fractious rapport with Gordon Strachan,” he told Radio Incontro.
“Celtic is a fantastic club and they always tried to make me happy. From Scotland I bring with me the politeness and respect of the fans, as there is more civility and a lot less tension.
“Now I am at Bari, I’m very concentrated and can’t wait to get started. I chose Bari because they were the only club who truly wanted me. They made me feel part of their project, so it was an easy choice.
“I strongly wanted to come back to Italy, so taking a pay cut was absolutely worth it. I have a little injury, but it’s nothing and I’ll be available again in a couple of days.”
