Davids’ lawyer Robert Geerlings has confirmed reports that the 35-year-old is holding talks with a Premiership club.
Geerlings said: “There is interest from England, although not from the clubs Edgar was hoping for.
“It is a possibility that he will move to England because it is a fantastic league and he enjoyed his time Spurs.
“There have been talks and Edgar now has to make a decision about his future. We are waiting for that.”
Davids spent 18 months at Tottenham before he returned to Ajax in January last year.
