Rangers boss Ally McCoist revealed earlier this week that he had spoken to Edu’s agent about a new deal.
The 25-year-old told Blues News: “It’s always good news to hear that the club is pleased with the way you’ve been playing and the progress you’ve made.
“I have worked with the management team and staff here for four years now. It’s good to have positive feedback and know that you’re wanted.”
Edu’s current contract with Rangers is set to expire in 18 months.
“I just focus on playing,” he added. “I know I have 18 months left.
“I have been pleased with the way things have been going. I’m just focused on getting wins in a bid to make it four in a row.”
