Evans told the Swansea City website: “My first two years at Man City were fine and I really enjoyed my football.
“It was great experience. I played in the FA Youth Cup final last season, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Liverpool, and I also played for the reserves on a regular basis.
“But things changed for me this season and I just wasn’t enjoying it.
“Man City wanted me to stay and were phoning me all the time to come back. They even offered me a two-year pro contract, but it wasn’t for me.
“The fact that Shaun MacDonald and Chris Jones have been given a chance at Swansea at a young age convinced me my future was with my hometown club.”
