Ribeiro was named Player of the Year in Brazil after having played a key part in Cruzeiro winning the title.
Reports have claimed United are holding talks about the 24-year-old, but Cruzeiro insists there has been no meetings.
Cruzeiro’s director of football Alexandre Mattos told Globo Esporte: “We have not received any offer for him so far and I we are not aware of any interest from any club.
“Everton Ribeiro will only leave the club if Cruzeiro want.”
But Ribeiro’s agent, Robson Ferreira, has responded to the comment made by Mattos by revealing that he is dealing with United directly.
“Cruzeiro have not received anything because I am handling the situation directly with Man Utd,” he is quoted by Globo Esporte.
“Everton Ribeiro has just been named the best player in Brazilian Football. Man Utd are interested in Everton Ribeiro.
“David Moyes is impressed and I personally met a Man Utd official and I was impressed. Man Utd consider him a complete midfielder.”
