The 32-year-old has signed a new three-year contract with the club, which will keep him with the Turksih side until 2019.
Melo has been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer and he was quoted by Turkish newspaper Hurriyet as saying in July: “If I were able to go to Inter, that would be the best thing for me. My family’s not happy in Turkey, and we don’t want to stay here.”
The new deal will see Melo earn €2.6million per year.
