Posh have been drawn away at Ewood Park for the Carling Cup fourth round tie in October.
He said: “It is a winnable tie. Sam Allardyce played a reserve team in the last round and I would imagine he may do the same again.”
He added: “It is a poor draw in the sense that we were looking for one of the bigger clubs but it is a Premier League club and it will be a good opportunity for my players to express themselves.
“We want to progress as far as we can in the competition and when the tie is our next fixture we will concentrate fully on it.
“In the meantime we have plenty of important league games coming up and we need to start picking up some points.”
