Fergie hailed the performance of Ryan Giggs, who came on as a second-half substitute and set up goals for Dimitar Berbatov and John O’Shea.
Fergie told Sky Sports: “It was marvellous movement for the first goal and a nice, easy pass into Berbatov, and it was a good finish.
“With Ryan we felt that, with the programme we have got coming up, and after a really difficult game last Sunday in terms of energy and the emotions, it was best for him to be a substitute today.”
He added: “It is always a difficult place to come. They have got fantastic fans and you can’t relax. It is a good performance for us.”
