“It was a game we should never have lost, but we were beaten by a Shunsuke Nakamura free-kick and I knew exactly where he was going to place it,” Ferguson told reporters.
“Edwin van der Sar admitted he should have been a step away from the position he took up and I felt embarrassed.
“Celtic haven’t changed much from then, but we have. Statistically in Europe they still have one of the best home records and one of the worst away.
“We have made a few additions to the squad since we last played them and we are more mature now.”
