Fergie is happy with the way Rosetti managed to give Cristiano Ronaldo protection throughout the game.
Rosetti handed Villarreal ace Joan Capdevila a direct red card for a foul on Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo got protection from a strong referee,” Ferguson stated to ITV.
“It was a straight red? I’d have to see it again but the referee was right on top of it and he was a very strong referee.
“I think they were happy to get a draw, it’s simple as that.
“I’m satisfied with the second half performance as we controlled the game and it gets us to the next stage. That’s the important thing.
“We deserved better as, in the second half, we had great possession of the ball.”
